Therefore, it is essential to choose it carefully and select a power supply with optimal performance and maximum efficiency, considering the performance of your system components.
Certification
Power supply certification is a crucial parameter that indicates how much of the converted energy is lost as heat. To validate the efficiency of a power supply, there is the 80 Plus certification, which indicates the loss of a given device. Currently, there are six levels of this certification: 80 Plus, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium, with Titanium-certified power supplies boasting the highest efficiency - up to 96%. However, other certifications, such as Cybernetics, are also gaining popularity, as they focus not only on losses but also on other factors, providing much more comprehensive information about a given power supply.
Redundancy
In a server environment, redundancy is also a very important aspect. Servers are often equipped with multiple power supplies connected in parallel to provide at least N+1 redundancy. Thanks to this, the smooth operation of the server is ensured even if one of the power supplies fails.
