Dual 25GbE connectivity optimizes data transfer and VMware virtualization with iSER
The TDS-h2489FU provides four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports and has a built-in QXG-25G2SF-CX6 dual-port 25GbE SFP28 SmartNIC with the NVIDIA® Mellanox ConnectX®-6 Lx SmartNIC controller that supports iSCSI Extensions for RDMA (iSER) to increase performance of data transfer between NAS and ESXi server and offload CPU workloads. With Port Trunking and Auto-Negotiation, the TDS-h2489FU empowers your organization with the bandwidth and reliability to allow thousands of endpoint users to smoothly access data stored on the NAS and also satisfy the most demanding applications (including data centers, virtualization, massive file transfer, high-speed backup/restoration, and multimedia transmission). The TDS-h2489FU is also ideally matched with QNAP’s managed and unmanaged 2.5GbE/10GbE switches to form high-speed, secure and scalable network environments without going over budget.
M.2 PCIe/SATA slots for SSD cache acceleration or enhanced AI image recognition
To attain optimal I/O and reduce latency, you can configure SSD caching by using either 2.5-inch SSDs or two M.2 2280 SSDs (NVMe PCIe Gen 3 or SATA 6 Gb/s, sold separately) in the TDS-h2489FU. You can implement durable data center SSDs to enhance ZIL protection along with the QuTS hero Dedicated ZIL – SLOG. Extra M.2 SSD slots can also be added by installing QM2 PCIe cards. The M.2 PCIe slots also allow for installing a Coral M.2 Accelerator with Edge TPU, providing an affordable solution to leverage AI acceleration for faster image recognition in your NAS applications.
Leverage the M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD to U.2 Adapter
Install one or more QDA-UMP4 adapter in the TDS-h2489FU to maximize PCIe bandwidth utilization in a cost-effective way by using M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD instead of the U.2 SSD for optimizing data-intensive applications. It can also boost IOPS performance when configuring SSD caching. Users can monitor drive health and manage SSD usage from the QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager. The M.2 SSD installed in the QDA-UMP4 is hot swappable.
